WARNING: ROCK CLIMBING AND BELAYING ARE INHERENTLY DANGEROUS ACTIVITIES THAT INVOLVE RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS, INCLUDING SERIOUS INJURY AND EVEN DEATH.
Like any piece of equipment used in rock climbing and/or belaying, Belāggles belay glasses should be used with caution and attention to recommended use. Vertical Vision maintains instructions on effective and safe use of Belāggles on each product package. For your convenience, the information is also shown below.
Belāggles Recommended Use Guidelines:
** The above guidelines are not intended to be instruction on belaying. If you are new to climbing, please seek professional instruction on how to belay.
Belāggles Recommended Care Guidelines:
Use an eyewear retainer: the Belāggles package comes with a complimentary eyewear retainer. Please use this to keep your Belāggles secure while in use. Should you lose the provided retainer, you can purchase them on the Belāggles website or you can just use some sturdy cord to thread the eyelets on the bows; easy peasy.
Clean lenses with a microfiber cloth: the Belāggles package comes with a complimentary microfiber cloth to clean the lenses. Please try to use this cloth, or another soft fabric, to clean the lenses before and after use.
Store Belāggles in a case: the Belāggles package also comes with a complimentary storage case. Please always store your Belāggles in the provided, or similar sized, case to avoid damage during transport and in between belaying sessions.
Precautions:
Do NOT look at the Sun: please don’t do this. While getting used to using your Belāggles , please use caution moving your head and the respective field of view, which may sometimes include the Sun. Belāggles are designed to refract light to your eyes at a 90 degree angle. They are not designed to block out the light or radiation from the Sun.
Prisms can chip: although the prisms used on your Belāggles are strong, should the prisms contact any hard object with substantial force, especially at the edges, they may chip. Although you may be able to still use them, Vertical Vision advises you to discard any Belāggles with chipped lenses.
